The head teacher at Goar reveals the changes that the pandemic has brought

We interviewed the head teacher, Joan Ramón Boixaderes, to know how the school works. This interview makes you know how complex a school is.
How do you run a school? Do you need a lot of responsibility or is it very difficult if you’re very stressed out?
The most important thing is to know that not everything is done by a single person and that each person has their function. All the team must have confidence and good organisation among all these people. If all this is well distributed and there is good confidence, everything can be done.
How has the school changed with the pandemic?
It has changed because all protocols and classes are different. The organization of classes because of confinements has had to take place online and were more difficult to do in the classroom.
When do you think the school will go back to normal?
I think it will never be as it was before, for example, many meetings will continue to be held online. Furthermore, thanks to video calls, everything is more expensive and not so many documents are needed, and it is faster because you do not need to go to places that are far away.
There has been controversy over football. Do you think you could agree to a rule that everyone can play whatever they want without any trouble in the playground?
We believe that football is very popular throughout the world but it should be done in physical education because in a playground where 300 people may be in, there cannot be 40 people occupying all the space because the rest of the people cannot be in the playground. In addition, there are many conflicts between pupils and this is detrimental to the school. The solution may be to take more time in physical education classes to play football. People who don’t play football don’t have to suffer because those who play take the whole space.
