We are giving our opinion on the article ‘L’escola Goar implementa mesures contra el canvi climàtic‘ written by our colleagues.

We believe they are right that it is better not to use silver paper and better to use Boc-n-roll to reduce or create less waste. They are right to use recycled paper to reduce deforestation and reduce waste. We believe that giving up the use of plastic is not the best thing to do because plastic is good but the use we make of it is painful, instead of giving up the use of plastic we would have to give up our obsession with plastic and use it for necessary things, not everything.

We can also make some changes that contribute to a lower production of greenhouse gases. The first is to recycle as much as possible. Also one of the most subtle changes is to stop using single-use plastic. Other actions include cleaning beaches, educating people about plastics and toxic gases. Going vegan is not the best option as we need meat, we are omnivores, but what we could do is try to find a solution that is good for the environment, for us and for the livestock.

Another option is not to use so many machines that cause so much smoke, but to use stoves, stones, planxes or other things that do not cause so much smoke. On the other hand, we believe that a green world would be better for everyone. We believe animals have the same right to live as us. You wouldn’t eat your cat, would you? The same goes for pigs, cows and chickens. They are all living beings and we all have the right to be respected by society.
