This spot in Senegal is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature

The summer is one of the most expected seasons: hot weather, peace and holidays. We know that sometimes, choosing the place to rest some days and relax can be difficult, so we recommend a vacation destination for you if you don’t know where to go.
There’s lots of places to choose, but the place we recommend is very impressive and has many curious characteristics. It is beautiful from any of the angles you could possibly imagine (especially for photos). We are talking about the Retba lake, a place not very famous but that is worth it to visit.
It is a lake to the north of the Senegalese peninsula of Green Head, at the north east of the African country. We recommend this lake since it is special from the rest because of its pink color. The lake is more or less colorful depending on the season of the year you’re in (normally it is more colorful during the drier seasons).
The pink color comes from a pink pigment that can absorb the sunlight that comes from microorganisms or, in this case, bacterias. But don’t worry, the lake is totally safe for humans, it is not toxic and the algaes and bacteria are harmless, also the lake has so much salt that you can float more easily than in a normal lake! For these reasons, inside the lake, there is less salt exploitation (the first one of the 1970). The lake is famous because it was the place of arrival of the Rally Dakar until 2008.
There are several hotels around the lake, but some of the most recommended are: Pullman Dakar Teranga, this hotel offers great facilities and is a fantastic place. The price is €233, it has breakfast included and a swimming pool, but it is the furthest from the pink lake.
Le couple du Lac ruse, this hotel offers an outdoor pool with a hot tub and free Wi-Fi. This hotel offers accommodation with mosquito nets and garden views. The price of the hotel is 49€.
