Some students of 2 ESO B have interviewed Hugo Romera to discover what he does in his free time. Hugo is the head of Secondary Studies at our school. He is 45 years old and has been working in this school for the last six years.

Which are your favorite hobbies?

My favourite hobbies are playing guitar and reading books.

For how long have you been doing these hobbies?

I’ve been playing the guitar since I was sixteen and I have always loved reading books in my free time.

Why do you like doing them in your free time?

I like reading because I learn things about life. It’s a good experience and it’s relaxing. What I like the most is playing music, in particular my guitar. I am actually good at it.

How do you combine your hobbies with work?

First of all, work is more important than my hobbies, so I usually read books in my free time and some evenings when I’m not too tired, and I play the guitar almost every day drinking a coffee when I get home after work.

Are you planning to give these activities up one day?

My hobbies? I don’t know, I think it’s difficult. I can’t think about giving up reading, maybe one day I won’t be able to play the guitar, but reading is very important to me.

How do you think you would feel if you had not started these hobbies?

One of the most important things in life is to do things that you like, so hobbies should be always included in our lifestyle.

Do you have any other hobbies? Which ones?

Yes, I like swimming, travelling abroad and tasting new dishes.

We think Hugo has interesting hobbies. It’s good he can combine them very well with work. Before doing the interview we could imagine the kind of activities Hugo does in his free time, since he is quite predictable!
